Project #1 – Workshops for children at Special School N0. 3  in Bucharest

Children learning at Special School No. 3 from Bucharest will take advantage of group and individual  workshops, comprising music, dance and pottery. The purpose is to improve the emotional life of children. The workshops will be thematically structured as it follows:

Music workshop. Music stimulates the brain and is able to restore neural connections. Through music and rhythms, musical games and songs, using their own voice or accommodating with different musical instruments, children can discover new values of communication and expression. Music can alter mood, which in turn can influence behaviour.

Dance workshop. Dance, as a natural extension of music, is contributing to the management of personal space and this kind of activity offers a wide range of ways of nonverbal artistic expression with role in the development of kinesthetic intelligence.

Pottery activities – foster in children the satisfaction of providing tangible form to their thoughts and emotions. Children will make various objects with a suggested or free theme, this activity being performed on a musical background.

Project #2 – Projects for typical and atypical children (children with special educational requirements)

This sort of workshops have as their main purpose integrating atypical children, through their participation alongside typical children in various workshops: music, dance, handmade (If you click on the link associated with each type of workshop, you will reach a page containing more details about it).

Participation in these workshops will be free for all atypical children, but the participation of typical children will require payment as donation, in order for us to be able to cover the costs of the workshops and, more important, those of the activities and projects dedicated to atypical children.

Project #3 – The multifunctional and multisensory centre for heuristic learning

We aim to create a centre where children will benefit from learning through exploration (heuristic learning). There will be several rooms, decorated and equipped in different ways, where workshops will be carried out. Workshops for children, dedicated to the development of each sense: visual, auditory, olfactory, tactile and gustatory. We will set up:

🔊  Vibrations and sounds  room (sound images) – music and dance workshops will be performed here and there will be a rehearsal and recording studio, too.

🎨  Shapes and colours room (visual images) – children will participate in painting and pottery workshops.

🧶 Texture room (tactile sensations) – tailoring and decorating workshops will be held here and children will come into contact with materials of the most diverse textures.

🦨 Scents room (olfactory sensations) – children will develop their sense of smell in perfume and essence workshops.

🍉  Flavour room (taste sensations) – here children will be able to learn to distinguish between different tastes and will learn to cook by participating in a gastronomy workshop.
